THE THING
I’ve wanted to do some game development at some point in my life and I think the time is now. This is where I’ll plan the thing.
The game is going to be a 2.5D point and click adventure game in the style of the old Lucasarts and Sierra games from the 80’s and 90’s. It’ll be it’s own thing but also serve as an homage to my favourite games in the genre.

The story
Not sure yet. This section is a WIP.
Mechanics
- Puzzle solving → Speak to the right NPC, say the right things/Combine items to interact with environment/Actual environmental puzzles (safe/hacking etc)
- Mouse click (LMB) to move character
- Sierra style inventory (move mouse to top edge to access, inventory becomes visible) + Curse of Monkey Island style action select (hold RMB to bring up menu → select look/touch/use/speak)
- Combine inventory items to solve puzzles
- Dialogue system
- Dialogue recollection via notepad → combine notes to create new questions
